Autism Awareness 2017

2017 was the year children carried out the massage of hope, undestanding and acceptance for autism. With our work with schools, we raised up Autism Awareness ambassadors from the children who carried out our April Autism Awareness activites through the media engagments. Special Needs Awareness to school Children

Children with Special Needs areoften misunderstood by adults and especially by their peers. This always results in bullying and other forms of abuse. To reduce this, we embarked on an agressive enlightenment campaign to educate school children about autism and other related disabilities that are found within their schools. It is important that children learn empathy, be friendly and to stand up for the vulnerable amongst them. It is also important to understand and accept differences.

We visited the Special Needs Class at the Public School at Garki Village. We donated learning and working resources, worked with the children, trained the teachers and had lots of fun during cycle time.

Annual Arts Exhibition 2016

April has been designated by the WHO as the Autism awareness month....2nd April as the autism awareness day. Thoughtful House has been involved in a massive electronic and print media campaign to create awareness accross Nigeria.
